Pilates or Yoga?
Depending on the result you are looking for pilates or yoga may be better for you. If you

are looking to feel calmer, more centered and flexible then yoga may be the best choice

for you. Someone looking to become stronger and more stable with a leaner look would probably prefer

pilates. If you are not certain, we will start with a consultation to discuss your goals.

How do I start?
Call us at 201-259-7265 or e-mail cathy@totalbalancepilates.com to schedule your appointment.

What do I wear?
Clients should wear comfortable loose fitting clothes so that you can move.
Socks can be worn but are not needed and shoes are not needed at all.

How do I know my teacher is qualified?
Any instructor should be certified by a nationally recognized program and be able to produce a copy of their certification.
Nationally recognized programs and teachers are listed at www.pilatesmethodalliance.org andwww.yogaalliance.com

How do I know if pilates is working?
Joseph Pilates said that in 10 sessions you would feel different and in 20 sessions your body will change.
I have found this to be true and in some cases change is affected even sooner than 10 sessions.
